The search facility supports right truncated searches and whole phrase searching. For instance, a search on <wild*> [omitting brackets] will fetch 'wild', 'wilding', 'wilderness' etc. A search on <wild> will fetch only instances of 'wild' (case insensitive). To search on whole phrases, enclose the phrase in double quotation marks: i.e. <"The Winslow Boy"> (case insensitive). The home page of the Archive comes up in many searches, because at the moment the search engine indexes the DC metadata which is currently hardwired into that page.

This search facility is currently under test. We are interested in hearing about any quirks and glitches in the way it works.
